Police and Thieves- Fracturing
I was in a Yoga class, a few months ago wearing a Youth of Today tee shirt. Packing up my yoga mat, a man stopped me and says to me “where did you get that”, I point him to the yoga mats and it turns out he was referring to my Youth of Today tee shirt. This chance encounter sparked a friendship between me and the lead singer of Police and Thieves.
In the days, following this meeting, Carlos from Police and Thieves sent me their new album, before it was released and has become something I listen to, usually when I need to be productive. The roaring vocals, remind of early 7 seconds just so you this may be one the best compliments I can give a band.
I saw them once prior to this meeting, at the Quarry House in Silver Spring and was impressed. I think the fact that they are named after a rather good clash song makes me like them more.
The new album seems to be right on point and I think one of the best albums to come out in the past year or so from DC. It is the type of album I could listen on repeat for days at a time (which, I will not confirm or deny that this is something I have done).
You should get their new album here.
They are also playing on Sunday for free and you should totally go:
